Please read these Terms of Use carefully. They are a legal agreement between you and College Deadline, LLC.

Acceptance of Terms

By using the College Deadline website, joining our waitlist, or submitting a form, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

If you are under 18, you may use the site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the site, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf. A parent or guardian who allows a minor to use the site accepts these terms for that minor.

Who May Use the Service

You may use the site if you are at least 13 years old. The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit them to submit information.

You agree that any information you give us is accurate and that you will keep it up to date. Do not submit information about another person unless you are that person’s parent or guardian, or you are otherwise authorized to do so.

The Service

College Deadline is currently in development. What is available today is an informational website and an early-access waitlist. The college-planning platform described on this site — the directory, comparison tools, dashboard, deadline tracker, and scholarship directory — has not launched.

When the platform launches, additional terms covering accounts and platform features will take effect and we will give notice before that happens.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also set or change limits on use, including limits on how often you can submit a form.

Accounts

This section takes effect when the platform launches. Accounts are not yet available.

When they are, you will be responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Accounts are for one person and may not be shared or transferred. Tell us promptly at TODO: legal contact email if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use any automated means to extract data from the site or from our college, university, or scholarship listings
• Copy, republish, resell, license, or redistribute our data, in whole or in substantial part
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, security features, or access controls
• Use the site to send spam, or to submit forms in bulk or under false identities
• Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one
• Upload or transmit anything unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or harmful, or any malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, or to any other user’s information
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
• Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable law

Our college and university data is compiled and verified through our own research process and represents substantial effort and expense. Extracting it in bulk is a breach of these terms whether or not any individual record is publicly available elsewhere.

User Content and Feedback

You keep ownership of anything you submit. By submitting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process it as needed to operate and improve the service.

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you agree we may use them without obligation or compensation to you. We appreciate feedback and we would rather receive it freely than not at all.

Intellectual Property

The site, the platform, the College Deadline name and logo, our software, design, database, research, and written content are owned by College Deadline, LLC and protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the site for your own college-planning purposes. That license does not include any right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content, except as these terms expressly allow.

Information Accuracy and No Guarantees

We compile institutional, admissions, cost, program, scholarship, and outcome information from public sources, from institutions themselves, and from our own research, and we verify significant fields against a second source where we can. We record where information came from and when we obtained it.

Even so, this information can change without notice and may be incomplete or out of date. Tuition changes, deadlines move, programs are added and discontinued, and institutional data is published on different schedules. Always confirm anything that matters to your decision directly with the college, university, or scholarship provider before you rely on it.

College Deadline does not guarantee admission to any institution, the award of any scholarship, the availability of any financial aid, any particular cost, any career outcome, or any salary. Nothing on the site is a promise of any result. We do not provide financial, legal, or professional admissions advice, and information on the site is not a substitute for guidance from a school counselor or a qualified adviser.

Third-Party Sites and Institutions

The site links to colleges, universities, scholarship providers, and other third parties. We do not control those organizations and are not responsible for their content, their decisions, their terms, or their privacy practices. Listing an institution is not an endorsement of it, and an institution’s participation in a partnership does not change the information we publish about it.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, College Deadline, LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or educational or financial benefit, arising out of or relating to your use of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless College Deadline, LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or if we need to protect the service or other users. You may stop using the service at any time, and you may ask us to remove your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the platform develops. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and give notice through the site or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
