Why It Works This Way

A directory plus a spreadsheet is not a plan.

Most college research ends up spread across browser tabs, a spreadsheet, and a calendar that nobody updates. The information exists — but it is not organized around the decision, and nothing tells you what is due next.

What people ask most about the platform itself.

Will College Deadline be free?

The core planning experience is intended to be free for students and families. Optional premium tools may be offered later, alongside partnerships with schools, institutions, and sponsors. We will always be clear about what costs money before it does.

When does the platform launch?

The first version is in development now. Early-access members receive launch updates and testing invitations before general availability. We would rather give you a working product than a date we cannot keep.

Where does the college data come from?

From approved public and institutional sources. We record the source and the date for every record, verify significant fields against a second source where possible, flag conflicting information, and publish only after review. Tuition, deadlines, acceptance rates, graduation rates, and accreditation get particular scrutiny.

Which colleges are included?

The platform is being built for a broad range of United States colleges and universities. The launch dataset covers core institutional, admissions, cost, program, and outcome fields, and expands from there.

How accurate is the information?

We verify carefully and update on a schedule, but institutional data changes and is published on different timetables. Always confirm anything decisive — a deadline, a cost, a requirement — directly with the school before you rely on it.

Can I use it as a counselor or a school?

Counselor and school dashboards are planned rather than available. We are recruiting pilot schools and nonprofit partners now, and pilot participants help shape those tools.
